Obviously, this is a problem. I'm working on it, but it's not easy. I wouldn't really be able to explain why, either. It's definitely not a lack of motivation. A lot of the times, I'm teeming with ideas, but I just don't write. Trust me, if that's weird for you to read, it's even weirder for me to experience.
But the questions is for you. How often do you write? Do you know why you write certain times and why you don't at others?
What motivates you to write?

July 24, 2010 at 7:05 PMI write randomly. Some weeks, I write every day, then I just completely stop. I have no clue why, I just have times when I don't feel like writing.
Listening to music or reading a good book tends to make me want to write more.

- I'm seventeen, living in Colorado. An aspiring writer. I try but fail most times. I'd like to think I pick myself up and keep going though. I have a fetish for the human spirit and abuse it as much as I can in my stories just to show how strong people can be. Lame, I know. I really like Imogen Heap, Lost, Grilled Cheese, Fantasy in general, and movies. I want to learn more about directing, producing, acting, and all that jazz eventually.

I usually write in bursts. About 3k-5k a day. That will happen for several days and then I'll end up skipping a few days of writing. If the 'skipping days' reach a week (I try to avoid that), I try and get back into it. If I can't then I try and motivate myself. Usually with music or YouTube videos of authors (like J.K. Rowling's A Year in the Life or book signings).
